The release of the tender is one of the utility's measures to develop the water and sanitation infrastructure, and reduce non-revenue water losses through the Zambia Water and Sanitation Project started in March this year.
The utility received a €75 million loan from the European Investment Bank, €50 million from the French Agency for Development, a grant from the African Caribbean and Pacific group of countries-European Union Water Facility of €5 million while the Zambian government and other partners will contribute €20 million for the implementation of the project, Metering and Smart Energy International has learnt.
